Training Event: Real-Time Simulation for Power Electrical Systems

On April 12, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, the first training event organized by the “Graduate Training Program for Real-Time Simulation” of ENET-RT Lab will be held online. This is a must-attend opportunity for those passionate about electrical engineering.

This initial session will focus on “Local and Multi-Site Real-Time Simulation for Power Electrical Systems.” Professors Ettore Bompard and Andrea Mazza will guide participants through an immersive experience in real-time simulation (RTS), with a particular focus on multi-site applications and co-simulation. They will present case studies and analyze the opportunities offered by the ENET-RT Lab.

Training Objectives on Real-Time Simulation

During the session, attendees will have the opportunity to:

  • Explore the conceptual foundations and applications of real-time simulation in electrical systems, understanding the advantages it brings to the field of electrical energy.
  • Delve into the concept of networked laboratories and assess their importance for both training and research, through concrete examples of how real-time simulation can be leveraged.
  • Discover the ENET-RT Lab and its contributions to the implementation of innovative applications in the field of electrical systems.
  • Analyze an example of a Power Hardware in the Loop (PHIL) configuration and its application in testing and validating an electric vehicle charging station.
  • Explore a concrete case study on co-simulation, presenting a project involving the cities of Turin and Benevento.
