EnSiEL is an organization of public Italian Universities operating in the field of energy, electrical systems and electrical installations.

It is a non-profit research organization founded in 2007 (pursuant to art. 91 of D.P.R. no. 382/80, as amended by art. 12 of Law 705/85). EnSiEL is recognised and supervised by the Ministry of Universities and Research (MUR) and has legal personality, attributed by DM MIUR of 15.04.2009 – OJ No. 105, of 08.05.2009
